My name is Cienna and I was given the honor of being crowned the 2025 Miss San Pedro Valley’s Teen as part of the Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation. I am very thankful for the way this program helped me grow and the opportunities I was given to develop my leadership skills. I am happy to share how much of a difference it made in my life and the impact I was able to make in my community. During my year,  I was able to represent my community at events, visit schools and make an impact with  my service initiative, Caring Companions with the mission of providing older adults in my community with companionship and support. Talking to the community about this was very meaningful to me. I have always been nervous to speak in front of people, but it did not take long for me to become confident. I learned how to express myself, be professional and represent something much bigger than myself. Preparing for interviews and competing on stage helped me develop skills that go far beyond just competing in a pageant. I learned how to think and answer questions carefully when I was under pressure and clearly state what my goals were. The people who mentored me helped me grow not just as someone who competes but as a leader. I became better at my time management skills and more committed to becoming a leader in my community. The Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation offers opportunities through scholarships. To prepare for the competition you have to work and be dedicated. The financial help from the scholarships makes a difference for young women like me who want to go to college. In today's world that kind of support can have a lasting impact. What is most important is that this organization helps build character. Being Miss San Pedro Valley’s Teen taught me about responsibility, being professional and being a role model. I know that younger girls are watching me and that has made me want to lead with integrity both on and off the stage.

My daughter Cienna Ward, served as the 2025 Miss San Pedro Valley’s Teen as part of the Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation. I can tell you without hesitation that this program has positively influenced her development, self-assurance and career aspirations. When Cienna started her journey, she was shy and soft spoken. The Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation has helped mold her into a leader and strengthen her voice and challenge her to grow beyond her comfort zone. Leadership, mentorship, and accountability needed in this program drove her to becoming poised, disciplined and resilient, qualities that will forever guide her through life. What sets the Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation apart is that it’s more than just competition. It is about scholarship, service, style, success and sisterhood. During her year, Cienna learned to confidently interview and speak publicly. She learned time management skills and how to serve her community with integrity. She was taught the value of service, to advocate for causes meaningful to her and to model her strong character both on and off the stage.  As a parent, I watched her grow up quickly in her year as Miss San Pedro Valley’s Teen. She learned to be accountable, how to carry herself in a professional manner and I witnessed her being a role model for younger girls in our community. The experience also allowed Cienna to receive scholarships that will directly impact her educational future.

History of the Miss Sierra Vista Crown

Until 1972, Miss Sierra Vista wore a crown selected by the pageant. In 1972, Mr. Charley Yell designed and donated the Silver and Turquoise Crown/Tiara as a symbol of the area.                                                                                                                                                                                                              The crown was worn until the crowning of Miss Sierra Vista 2012–when Miss America requested that all local crowns be retired, and the official crown of the Miss America local titleholder was to be used.

We now have two titleholders with slightly different crowns– one used by the local titleholders for the Miss titleholder and the other used for the Teen Titleholder.
